Ahi Poke Bowl
Ingredients
- •Ahi tuna
- •Soy sauce
- •Sesame oil
- •Green onion
- •Sweet onion
- •Sesame seeds
- •White rice
- •Seaweed salad
- •Macadamia nuts
Steps
- 1Cut the raw ahi tuna into even bite-sized cubes, keeping the pieces as uniform as possible for even seasoning.
- 2In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, sesame oil, and a little sugar until combined.
- 3Add thinly sliced sweet onion, chopped green onion, and sesame seeds to the bowl.
- 4Gently fold the cubed tuna into the marinade, tossing carefully so every piece gets coated without breaking apart.
- 5Cover the bowl and let it marinate in the refrigerator for 15 to 20 minutes, no longer, so the fish stays fresh and firm.
- 6Scoop warm steamed white rice into serving bowls as the base.
- 7Spoon the marinated poke generously over the rice.
- 8Add a small portion of seaweed salad alongside the poke for a briny contrast.
- 9Scatter crushed macadamia nuts and a few extra sesame seeds over the top just before serving from the counter.
